Passports in hand!

Posted in Uncategorized on June 17, 2009 by bobgsmith

Synagogue3761Matt & Janie left this morning to fly to Taiwan to pick up baby Chase.   They were pumped!  As you can see, they took a few things with them.

Synagogue3764Here they are with their passports in hand about to go into the terminal.  They are still waiting on the final piece of paperwork.  Please pray that it comes through and all the details will fall in place.   Welcome Chase!

A good laugh!

I was looking through some of my photo’s and found these pictures.  Linda and I were about 25.  We were doing a civic theatre production of 1776.  Linda was Abigal Jefferson and I was Rev. Witherspoon (talk about type casting.)

Well, it was good  for a laugh.

Elle!

Posted in Uncategorized on June 3, 2009 by bobgsmith

It was our first service of the Pursuit @ Century Village.  Linda and I had prayed for this moment for over a year.  I can’t begin to explain God’s timing but I’m learning to accept it.

Ellie is the taller lady on the left.  While her husband was in the hospital, a nurse began to share the Lord with her.  She had walked with the Lord early in her life but had gotten away from that walk.

She read about our service and wanted to attend.  But she couldn’t leave her husband. The day before the our service, her husband was put on 24 hour hospice care.  She was able to attend and invited Jesus back into her life.  The next Wednesday, she wasn’t at our service.  When I called, her husband had died that day.  We are ministering to her during this time .

God’s timing – gotta Love it!

Partee!

All it takes to get a crowd in South Florida is the word, “Partee!”  After church on Sunday the Mehaffeys hosted a party to welcome and introduce the new interns for the summer.  They will working with Kid’s City on Sunday morning and starting a youth group on Sunday evening.  Hannah is the blond on the right.  Linda and I have know her since the day she was born.  What fun to work with her now.
